Chelsea boss Mourinho vows not to talk up Rooney deal (sort of!)

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho hopes to end a three year chase for Manchester United star Wayne Rooney. Mourinho reaffirmed the club's statement yesterday that a bid had been made for the England ace.

The former Real Madrid coach hasn't been shy in talking about Rooney since returning to Stamford Bridge - and well before:

INTEREST IN ROO (Jul 12, 2013): "I cannot speak about players from other teams but you know me. I have always said what I think and I like the player very much."

HOW IT HITS ENGLAND (Jul 7, 2013): "If Wayne is a second choice for Man United, the national team will be affected."

ON CHELSEA RETURN (Jun 10, 2013): "I like him, he is at a fantastic age. He has maturity and big experience."

ON FERGIE OVER ROO CHAMPIONS LEAGUE SNUB (Mar 6, 2013): "Sir Alex has won the right for every decision to be correct and never have a question mark against them."

INTEREST IN ROO WHILE REAL MADRID BOSS (Oct 19, 2010): "If Rooney wants to leave - give me a call."
