Chelsea boss Mourinho prepared to surrender title charge

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho will ask club owner Roman Abramovich if they can surrender the title on Sunday at Liverpool.

The Telegraph says Mourinho will ask the Chelsea owner, Roman Abramovich, for permission to surrender the Premier League title to Liverpool. The stance of Mourinho is likely to infuriate Premier League chiefs and Manchester City, who are still hoping to catch Liverpool at the top.

Chelsea secured a goalless draw in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final against Atlético Madrid last night, but lost goalkeeper Petr Cech and captain John Terry to injury. Cech will miss the rest of the season with a dislocated shoulder, while manager Mourinho claims Terry will only play again if Chelsea reach the Champions League final after suffering a foot problem.
