Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho was pleased with Marco van Ginkel's performance in victory over Inter Milan in the US.
Mourinho handed the young Dutchman a start in the 2-0 win.
He said: "What's important is the evolution of the team and to see the way some of the boys played, especially Van Ginkel, who I put in from the start in a match of this dimension.
"It was a pity [Kevin] De Bruyne and [Andre] Schurrle couldn't play because it would have been a good experience, but I was very happy with the result."
