Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has defended Manchester United striker Robin van Persie.

Van Persie is under pressure as he battles to rediscover his best form.

He appeared on crutches after defeat at Swansea, but Mourinho said: "But maybe it's just a precaution because the medical staff wanted to tackle the problem directly in the stadium.

"I hope so, because I do not like injuries to players."

United are yet to clear up the extent of RvP's injury.
