Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho made attempts for three of his former Real Madrid players last summer, it has been revealed.
Spanish transfer experts Fichajes.net say Mourinho made attempts for Mesut Ozil, Sami Khedira and Fabio Coentrao.
Chelsea's move for Ozil came in the final week of the summer market, with Real already in the middle of negotiations with Arsenal ahead of selling the Germany international.
An attempt for Khedira was made earlier in the transfer window, but like Manchester United, they were given short shrift by Real.
Mourinho also made a personal request for Coentrao, but that fizzled out to nothing with Chelsea chiefs pointing out Ryan Bertrand and Patrick van Aanholt being behind England left-back Ashley Cole at Stamford Bridge.
