Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas refuses to give up on signing Liverpool midfielder Raul Meireles.
The London Evening Standard says Blues boss Villas-Boas is expected to put in an improved offer for a player he worked briefly with at Porto, after being frustrated in his attempts to sign Luka Modric from Tottenham.
Meireles was one of Liverpool's strongest performers in the second half of the season, after signing last summer for £11.7m, but fell out with the board after demanding an improved contract.
And with the transfer window closing tomorrow night, Chelsea, determined to sign a creative midfielder, will strive to reach an agreement with Kenny Dalglish's Anfield side.
