Such was Chelsea's performance against Sunderland, that manager Carlo Ancelotti could afford to hand John Terry a rest at halftime.
With the Blues 4-0 up at the break Terry was substituted - with Ancelotti later explaining he simply wanted to give his captain a rest.
"We took John Terry off as a precaution," he said. "There was no injury. There is no problem with either of them for the next match."
Sunderland boss Steve Bruce conceded: "It was just damage limitation. Every time they went forward they looked as though they were going to score."
