Chelsea have denied tabling a £33m offer for Real Madrid's Spanish international Sergio Ramos. The Blues have now stated the Stamford Bridge outfit have not bid for the 24-year-old, who helped Spain win the World Cup in South Africa.
Chelsea have even revealed their surprise at being contacted by someone acting on behalf of the player attempting to gauge their level of interest.
Sporting director Frank Arnesen has categorically denied any interest in the ex-Sevilla man.
"It is absolutely false," confirmed Arnesen. ''We haven't made any bid for Ramos.
"What did surprise us is that a person called us on behalf of the player to see if we were interested in signing him."
