Chelsea attacker Pulisic defends USA coach Berhalter

Chelsea's Christian Pulisic has spoken out regarding the criticism of recently-reappointed USMNT head coach Gregg Berhalter.

The American manager is back in the hot seat after a lengthy review from the US Soccer Federation.

His initial contract expired at the end of the 2022 World Cup, but the US appear to have faith in his ability to lead the team into the 2026 edition.

In a clip from ESPN Plus' Futbol Americas, Pulisic said: "I wouldn't even say I'm adamant about trying to bring back Gregg in so much. I just have to give credit where credit's due.

"And it does frustrate me a little bit in just seeing just kind of all the negative press that people tell me about. And I can't fully understand it of what exactly - he's come in and won the Nations League, won the Gold Cup, we win the Nations League again, had a solid World Cup.

"Are there things that you can criticize here and there? Sure, and I think he'd agree with that. But it seems a bit crazy to me, the criticism, and like I said I have to give credit where credit's due."
