Chelsea assistant coach Gianfranco Zola missed last night's Europa League over Malmo after spending the night in hospital.
Zola was hospitalised due to complications from a gallstone surgery.
He underwent an operation to cure a gallstone problem last week, but he needed to be re-admitted following complications from the surgery.
Chelsea have not set a return date for the 52-year-old Italian and he missed Thursday's Europa League game against Malmo.
Any potential involvement in preparations for Sunday's Carabao Cup final again Manchester City is also in doubt.
