Chelsea and Sunderland's April meeting postponed

The Chelsea v Sunderland fixture, set for Saturday, April 6, has been delayed by one day.

The Blues will now host the Black Cats on Sunday, April 7 after they progressed to the quarter-finals of the Europa League with a win over Steaua Bucharest on Thursday night.

Chelsea host Russian outfit Rubin Kazan on Thursday, April 4 and have been given an extra 24 hours to prepare for the Premier League clash with Sunderland.

"The Black Cats will now travel to Stamford Bridge on Sunday, April 7 for a 3pm kick-off, moving back 24 hours from the original scheduled game," read a statement on Sunderland's official website.

"The change comes due to Chelsea's involvement in the quarter-final of the UEFA Europa League, where they face Russian side Rubin Kazan on Thursday, April 4."
