Charlie Austin has revealed he had agreed upon a move to Newcastle United before the move fell through.
The Magpies were linked with Austin in the summer of 2015 after his QPR side were relegated to the Championship.
Reports at the time had claimed Toon had not wanted to meet Rangers' valuation of £12m.
Austin instead joined Southampton in January 2016. He is now on loan at West Bromwich Albion.
