USL-2 side Charleston Battery have acquired former DC United defender John Wilson for the 2010 season.

The 32-year old has returned to the Battery for a seventh season after he first joined the club in 1999 until 2003 and then came back briefly in 2008.

Wilson's acquisition is a major coup for the club according to head coach Mike Anhaeuser.

"It is great to get John on board for the 2010 season, he will add tremendous experience and leadership to our backline. John has been one of our steadiest defensive players on the field and I know the fans will be excited to see him back for another successful season," he said.
