Another intriguing night in the UEFA Champions League has brought about a bunch of interesting results to bring a finish to Match Day 3 of Europe's premier club competition.
Premier League champions Manchester City find themselves in plenty of trouble as they were beaten for the second time in three matches, going down to Ajax 3-1 in Amsterdam.
Samir Nasri opened the scoring in the 22nd minute but Siem de Jong levelled for Ajax prior to the break before Niklas Moisander and Christian Eriksen gave the home side maximum points to allow them to climb off the bottom of the Group D table.
The other fixture in that group saw German title-holders Borussia Dortmund edge Spanish champions Real Madrid 2-1 in Germany with Robert Lewandowski and Marcel Schmelzer scoring either side of Cristiano Ronaldo. The results see Dortmund now sitting on top on seven points with Madrid next on six whilst Ajax sit third on three and City at the foot with a solitary point.
In Group B, Schalke upset Arsenal 2-0 in London courtesy of second-half goals from Klaas-Jan Huntelaar and Ibrahim Afellay as Olympiakos came from behind to beat Montpellier 2-1 in France.
Group C saw Malaga heap more misery on AC Milan with a 1-0 home result as Zenit St Petersburg edged Anderlecht 1-0 courtesy of an Alexander Kerzhakov penalty whilst Group A provided many more goals with Porto beating Dynamo Kyiv 3-2 and PSG getting the better of Dinamo Zagreb 2-0 in Croatia.
