David Silva has stated that Manchester City making it to the semi-finals of the Champions League this season is a testament to the progress the club has made over the years.
While City have disappointed in the Premier League this term, the current campaign will be seen as a landmark for the club after they managed to reach the semi-finals of the Champions League for the first time in their history.
It remains to be seen as to whether City can now go all the way in the competition but attacking midfielder Silva believes reaching the final four of Europe's elite competition in itself is a big achievement for the club.
The Spanish star said: "This team has won two Premier League titles and all the domestic cups in recent years, so I think we've achieved great things for a club that had never qualified for the Champions League before.
"When I joined six years ago, they'd never qualified for the Champions League but now we're in the semi finals. It shows the club is growing, everyone knows what we're about and I think that is good for the club."
