Borussia Dortmund will go into the Champions League Round of 16 second leg with Shakhtar Donetsk with a slight advantage following a 2-2 in Ukraine tonight.
The German champions trailed twice at the Donbass Arena but rallied on both occasions to give them an edge by virtue of away goals for the March 5 return bout in Germany.
Darijo Srna gave Shakhtar the lead just after the half-hour mark with a lovely dipping free-kick which beat Dortmund keeper Roman Weidenfeller before Robert Lewandowski levelled for the visitors late in the half when he coolly finished after miskicking his initial attempt.
In the 68th minute, Douglas Costa again edged Shakhtar ahead after coming on six minutes earlier to fire home after receiving a long ball over the top of the Dortmund defence but Mats Hummels rose above in the 87th minute to bury a powerful header home from Mario Schmelzer's cross to set up an intriguing second leg.
