CHAMPIONS LEAGUE QUALIFIERS: Celtic ease past Cliftonville, wins for Elfsborg and Molde

The first leg of the second round of Champions League qualifying for season 2013/14 has been complete with mainly the favoured sides getting the desired results.

Scottish champions eased past Northern Irish side Cliftonville 3-0 thanks to goals Mikael Lustig, Georgios Samaras and James Forrest ahead of the return leg in Glasgow next week.

Swedish side Elfsborg hammered Latvian club Daugava Daugavpils 7-1 with Celtic loanee Mo Bangura on target as Ole Gunner Solskjaer's Molde edged Irish outfit Sligo Rovers 1-0 away from home.

Elsewhere, Romania's Steaua Bucharest beat Macedonian side Vardar 3-0, Czech Republic's Viktoria Plzen edged Bosnia's Zeljeznicar 4-3 in a seven-goal shootout, Poland's Legia Warsaw got the better of Welsh club The New Saints 3-1 on the road and Slovan Bratislava from Slovakia defeated Bulgaria's Ludogorets Razgrad 2-1 at home.

A brace from El Arbi Soudani allowed Dinamo Zagreb to beat Luxembourg's Fola Esch 5-0 as Georgia's Dinamo Tbilisi hammered Faroe Islands club EB/Streymur 6-1 at home.

Azerbaijan's Neftchi Baku and Albania's Skenderbeu Korce drew 0-0, as did Malta's Birkirkara and Slovenia's Maribor, Moldova's Sheriff Tiraspol and Montenegro's Sutjeska Niksic drew 1-1, Maccabi Tel Aviv beat Hungary's Gyor 2-0 away, Kazakhstan's Shakhter Karagandy managed a 1-0 win at more-fancied BATE Borisov, Armenia's Shirak forced a 1-1 draw with Partizan Belgrade, Icelandic side FH edged Lithuania's Ekranas 1-0 and Finland's HJK Helsinki had a scoreless draw with Estonia's Nomme Kalju.

The return legs will be played next Tuesday and Wednesday with the winners progressing to the ythird qualifying round.
