CHAMPIONS LEAGUE: Genk score first Champions League goal to hold Chelsea

Belgian club RacingGenk have scored their first goal in the UEFA Champions League to allow them to record a 1-1 draw with Chelsea in Group E tonight.

Jelle Vossen's 61st minute strike created history for Mario Been's side who fell behind after 25 minutes when Ramires slotted home a Fernando Torres through ball past goalkeeper Laszlo Koteles.

The Blues could have been two ahead five minutes before half-time when they were awarded a penalty for a Thomas Buffel handball in the area but central defender David Luiz had his spot-kick saved by Koteles.

The home side managed to get back on level terms through Vossen's goal to secure a vital point which gives them a very thin hope of finishing in the top two as they sit four points behind second-placed Bayer Leverkusen who lost 3-1 at Valencia tonight.

Chelsea remain top of the group with eight points from four games but a result such as this would not do too much for their confidence, especially coming off two losses in a row in the Premier League.

Andre Villas-Boas' men next take on Leverkusen in Germany whilst Valencia host Genk on November 23.
