Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino has urged the likes of Clinton N'Jie and Andros Townsend to push for a starting spot in his side.
The ankle injury suffered by Nacer Chadli on the weekend, which is to keep the Belgian winger out for six weeks, provides an opportunity for others to push for regular first team selection and Pochettino has implored his fringe types to step up and prove themselves.
"It is very disappointing for us and the player and we hope that it goes well and maybe in six weeks Chadli will come back," he told Sky Sports News HQ.
"But it is always a place for another player to have an opportunity, maybe Clinton N'Jie or Andros Townsend, to break in. We have a strong squad, they are young, but they are ready to compete."
