Cesc: It was now or never for me and Barcelona

Cesc Fabregas felt it was now or never in his bid to return to Barcelona. The former Arsenal captain completed his protracted move yesterday.

"I wanted to catch this train and this year could be the last," confessed the midfielder.

"(Lionel) Messi is the best and Barca always has the best players. I have watched Thiago (Alcantara) and I welcome the competition. It will be an honour to play with him. He is going to be a great player."

Over 35,000 fans were at the Nou Camp to welcome home Cesc, who took part in his first training session as a Barca player in the evening.

The midfielder was also asked about Real Madrid's interest, but refused to comment.

"I can offer enthusiasm, sacrifice and commitment to the squad," he added.
