Cesc expects Spanish contingent to drive Chelsea to glory

Cesc Fabregas believes Chelsea's Spanish contingent will make a big impact this season. Fabregas is convinced fellow Spain internationals Fernando Torres and Costa could give Chelsea the edge up front. Both have come under heavy criticism, with Torres failing to impress since joining Chelsea in 2011 and Costa having a poor World Cup.

But Fabregas said: "I started playing with Fernando when I was 18, on my debut for the Spanish national team. We have won two European championships and the World Cup together. I really like playing with him. He's strong, he goes behind defenders and his movement off the ball is superb. I'm sure we'll have a good partnership.

"Diego has been progressing immensely in the last couple of years. He is a real threat in every single game. Last season [for Atletico Madrid] he was playing every three days and he was consistently giving really strong performances. He goes behind the defence and he makes the kind of runs players like me really like because it gives you an option to play the killer ball. I think he will do superbly."
