Cesc Fabregas hailed his Arsenal players after their 1-1 draw with Villarreal on Tuesday night.

The Gunners grabbed a precious away goal in Tuesday's 1-1 quarter-final first-leg clash after the Spanish midfielder set up Emmanuel Adebayor's awesome equaliser.

Fabregas, 21, said: "As a captain when you see your team-mates playing like warriors it is really good to play next to them.

"I feel really proud - we showed character."
