Central Coast's McGlinchey joins Motherwell on loan

Central Coast Mariners midfielder Michael McGlinchey has joined Scottish club Motherwell on loan.

The 23-year old New Zealand international will link up with his new team next week and prepare for the visit of league leaders Rangers February 10.

McGlinchey has been a key player for the Mariners in his first A-League season but is hoping to maintain fitness and form ahead of June's World Cup in South Africa.

Motherwell boss Craig Brown said the signing was a positive one and was looking forward to having the former Celtic man in action at Fir Park.

"We're delighted Michael is coming in and he'll give us more attacking options down the flanks," Brown told www.motherwellfc.co.uk. "He's got a good pedigree having come through the ranks at Celtic and then on to Australia where he has played regularly for Central Coast Mariners, as well as winning three caps for New Zealand this season.

"His arrival will give the squad and the fans a wee boost going into a difficult and congested period for the club."
