Welsh youngster Jonathan Brown is hoping he can impress in the final few rounds of the season so he can win a contract with the Central Coast Mariners for next term.
The 19-year old arrived in Australia in December on a contract until the end of the current season with the option of a possible two-year deal and knows he needs to produce some positive performances to earn himself more time down under.
"I've got to show a lot in five games really, and that's what I really want, a new contract here so I have to work my hardest to get a new contract by the end of the season," Brown said.
Formerly of Cardiff City, Brown has also spent time with Wrexham as well as Bryntirion Athletic but had not played for several months before his first outing with the Mariners youth team on the weekend.
"It was brilliant to finally get out there. I've waited a long time for a visa to come through but I really enjoyed it. It was a hot day but I was just glad to be back out on the football pitch," he added.
