SunSport reports that three top German clubs have entered the race to sign Celtic contract rebel Gary Caldwell. Bundesliga champs Wolfsburg may swoop for the Scotland ace with Hannover '96 and Schalke 04 have also showing interest.
Talks between the top-flight German outfits and Caldwell's agent, Paul Martin, took place before Celts' Euro clash with Hamburg earlier this month.
But their attention has been grabbed by the prospect of snatching the Scotland star for free at the end of this season.
Celtic, however look set to try and off-load the 27 year old during the next transfer window.
Chief executive Peter Lawwell believes it makes more business sense to cash in on the player he signed on a Bosman deal three years ago.
