Celtic will want title by more than 10 says ex-defender Vega

Former Celtic defender Ramon Vega believes that manager Neil Lennon will want to win this season's Scottish Premier League title by more than 10 points.

Old Firm rivals Rangers were stripped of that amount after entering administration this week and Vega, who played alongside Lennon to take the Scottish treble in 2001, says a gap of more than 10 points will be required to make it feel like they have not won the Premiership by default.

"Neil will want to win the league by as many points as possible," he told Record Sport.

"Celtic will be aware what is happening to Rangers but they will not be concerned.

"They are in the middle of a 14-match winning run in the league and will be determined to keep that going. Neil will want to win the league and will want to do it in style. He has his own ship to run and won't be the kind of guy to take his foot off the gas.

"Neil is not the sort of personality to go easy on a rival because of their weakness. What is going on at Ibrox is Rangers' problem. Celtic must be ruthless and I'm sure they will be.

"Neil will be desperate to go through the rest of the campaign undefeated."
