Celtic try again for Burnley striker Lafferty

Celtic have rekindled their interest in Burley hitman Kyle Lafferty.

Burnley rejected a £500,000 offer for Celtic 12 months ago and this would have to be upped to the region of £3m before Burnley would open talks.

However, Burnley boss Owen Coyle has already tried to sign Celtic forward Derek Riordan and the former Hibs player could become a makeweight in the Lafferty deal.

The 20 year old Northern Ireland international has admitted he would be keen on a move to Celtic Park:

"It may be that I might have to consider staying at Burnley or even moving to Scotland," he said. "I will leave it up to my club, but if an offer came in from Celtic and Burnley accepted it, I would give it due consideration."
