Celtic success attracts overseas interest in Brisbane

The successful visit to Brisbane from Scottish giants Celtic has not gone unnoticed. Just hours after Sunday's clash between the Brisbane Roar and Celtic, a high-profile European club enquired about a similar pre-season match next season.

Suncorp Stadium's management company, AEG Ogden, said that there was already interest for further events in Brisbane.

AEG Ogden chief executive Harvey Lister said that the trip went exceptionally well.

"Celtic really committed themselves on this trip," said Lister.

"They way they communicated with their fans, the way they went to the local ground and stayed there until every kid had got an autograph, it was really exceptional stuff.

"Celtic came with a team of supporters around the world," he added.

"Every restaurateur and hotel manager that I've spoken to told me that they were scrambling for more staff and that business was just fantastic."
