The Scottish Football Association are willing to help Celtic appeal to FIFA so they can sign John Guidetti from Manchester City.
The 22-year old Swedish striker was linked with a deadline day loan move to the Scottish champions but the deal did not go through before the summer transfer window slammed shut at 11pm on Monday UK time.
The SFA will now look to help the Hoops get the transfer for the former Feyenoord and Stoke City loanee done under exceptional circumstances.
A Scottish FA spokesman said: "We will be contacting FIFA on Celtic's behalf to request an "exception" in order for the transfer to be concluded."
