Celtic skipper Brown, Ledley fit for Spartak as Wanyama misses

Celtic captain Scott Brown and Joe Ledley are certain starters for Wednesday night's vital Champions League meeting with Spartak Moscow.

The Bhoys take on the Russian Premier League club for the chance to move through to the Round of 16 if they can produce a win and Benfica do not beat Barcelona at the Nou Camp.

Manager Neil Lennon says that Brown, who has been struggling with a hip injury, and Welshman Ledley will be fresh but was left to rue the absence of powerhouse midfielder Victor Wanyama who is suspended.

"Scott is our captain, he loves these nights and played brilliantly in the first couple of games," said Lennon.

"He was more like 100 per cent fit then but he has felt an awful lot better recently.

"I don't know if the cortisone injections have started to really work. It takes a while for that to really kick in.

"But maybe it is settling in now and Scott looks to be training and playing with more freedom now.

"Having him back is great, while Beram Kayal is starting to show his best form again.

"Joe Ledley had a break over the weekend and he should be ready.

"So we should still have a pretty strong midfield, although Victor Wanyama is a big loss - no doubt about that."
