Celtic defender Virgil van Dijk is intent on forcing his way into the Holland national team setup.
The 22-year old centre-back, who has played for The Oranje at U19 and U21 level, is in fine form for the Hoops and does not believe playing in Scotland will deter his chances of gaining selection to Louis van Gaal's squad.
Last week, AC Milan and Holland midfielder Nigel de Jong suggested van Dijk was ready for international football and now the former FC Groningen man is eyeing a cap for his country.
"That was nice to hear from a very good player but, for that to happen, it's up to me to show everyone that I'm good enough and to play good games," van Dijk said.
"It's difficult for me to say how the national team coaches judge players.
"But all I can do is to continue playing well and win the games with my team.
"But I do think the Premiership is a competitive league - definitely. If you compare it to the Dutch league, it is quite similar. There only a few differences, like the physicality."
