Celtic's performance at Dundee pleases Lennon

Celtic manager Neil Lennon was thrilled with his side as they produced a competent performance to beat Dundee 2-0 at Dens Park Stadium on Boxing Day.

Georgios Samaras and Gary Hooper were the scorers to send the Hoops seven points clear at the top of the Scottish Premier League table but it was also a vital save from goalkeeper Fraser Forster which did not go unnoticed by a jubilant Lennon.

"I'm overall pleased with the performance on a difficult pitch, it was quite rutted and bobbly. We have to adapt at times better to the conditions but we had two real bits of quality to win the game," he said.

"I had to rely on my goalkeeper to make a fantastic save. We have seen that time and time again - it was another wonderful point-blank save.

"Thankfully he was able to keep a clean sheet and we went on to win with a superb individual goal again from Hooper.

"I didn't think we started the second half well at all but when (James) Forrest came on he just gives a better balance to the team and it's a great win for us."
