Celtic's Matthews: We will prove Lafferty wrong by clinching title Celtic winger Adam Matthews says the club will become the best team in Scotland this weekend when they take on Kilmarnock at Rugby Park.

The Hoops can stitch up this season's title with a victory over Killie which will swiftly prove recent comments made by Rangers forward Kyle Lafferty that the Ibrox outfit are the best team in the country.

"Lafferty can have his opinion," Matthews said.

"We'll prove who the best team is by winning the title at Rugby Park."

And the Welshman is also looking to exact revenge Killie beat the Hoops in the League Cup final a few weeks back.

"We weren't conned by Kilmarnock at Hampden," he added.

"The cup was lost because they took the chance that came their way and we didn't take the ones we got. The Celtic players didn't do themselves justice and now we have a chance to make up for that."
