Celtic's Hooper in running for double gong

Celtic striker Gary Hooper has been nominated for a chance to win a double award this season.

SunSport has revealed the shortlist of nominees for the Professional Footballers' Association of Scotland Player of the Year awards which includes the Young Player of the Year.

The awards night to be held on May 1 has Hooper going up against teammate Emilio Izaguirre as well as Rangers forward Steve Naismith and Kilmarnock's Alexei Eremenko for the Player of the Year whilst he has also been nominated for the Young Player where he come up against Dundee United's David Goodwillie.

23-year old Hooper has been a revelation since joining the Hoops from English Championship club Scunthorpe United last summer, scoring 15 goals in 19 league appearances whilst receiving his first England U21 call-up.
