Celtic striker Scott McDonald is confident the team can bounce back from a disappointing defeat against Dundee United last week. The Hoops had a good chance to kick clear of title rivals Rangers when they travelled to Dundee but went down 2-1 and dropped to second on the table, a point behind their Glasgow enemies.
On Sunday morning Australian time they get their chance to redeem themselves when they host 7th placed St Mirren at Celtic Park and McDonald believes they can notch up a much-needed victory.
"Last week was clearly a disappointment but in football you always get a chance to atone for your losses," McDonald told tribalfootball.com.
"That's our plan when St Mirren come here on Saturday and we know we need to win to keep in contact with Rangers, who have a game in hand on us."
The Celtic v St Mirren clash is LIVE on Setanta Sports this Sunday morning at 2am and it will be shown straight after Rangers tackle Aberdeen at Pittodrie Stadium.
