Celtic new boy Sinclair can rediscover best under former Liverpool, Swansea boss Rodgers

Celtic signing Scott Sinclair is hoping to rediscover his lost form under manager Brendan Rodgers.

The 27-year-old winger, who previously played under Rodgers at Swansea City, signed for the Hoops from Aston Villa in a £4million deal last week.

Sinalri couldn't have hoped for a better debut to his time with the Glasgow giants as he scored the winner in the 2-1 win over Hearts in the season opener on the weekend and is determined to continue on in that vein of form under Rodgers.

He said of the ex-Liverpool boss: "Brendan's been a massive influence on my career having worked with me for so long.

"He got the best football out of me at Swansea and that got me a move to Manchester City.

"I want to get that emotion back in my career, the excitement of playing football.

"It is hard when you are not playing regularly. It's about being strong and driving to get another breakthrough.

"I've got that breakthrough now after signing for Celtic and I want to kick on.

"He lets me express myself and gives me a job to do and then go out and play.

"I can't even remember when I scored my last league goal, so that shows the confidence he gives me.

"Tactically, he's up there and he has it in his locker to get us through to play Champions League football.

"It would be great for the club and the fans to get into the group stage this year.

"We have two more games to get through, so it is up to us to win that tie and make sure we get there."
