Celtic ease past Stjarnan in Champions League qualifier

Celtic eased past Icelandic club UMF Stjarnan to move into the next and final qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League for 2015/16.

The Hoops registered an emphatic 4-1 away victory to seal the tie.

Having won the first leg in Glasgow 2-0, the Hoops found themselves under pressure when their opponents took a surprise lead just after six minutes.

The Scottish Champions kept their calm and soon took control of the game when midfielder Nir Bitton's header on 32 minutes squared the score-line before second-half goals from Charlie Mulgrew, Leigh Griffiths and Stefan Johansen saw them through.

The 6-1 aggregate win means Celtic will now play Azerbaijan side Qarabag in the third qualifier.
