Neil Lennon is desperate to tie down Celtic striker Gary Hooper to a new deal.
The Hoops boss has described the 24-year old goalscorer as 'world class' recently and admits he wants to secure his services after consistently producing fine performances since his 2010 move from Scunthorpe United.
"We're hoping to talk to his agent soon about a new deal but he's probably just put £25,000 a week on his wage," Lennond told the Daily Record regarding Hooper who scored Celtic's opening goal in their 3-2 Champions League win over Spartak Moscow on Tuesday night.
"I'm just delighted for him because he's a great kid who has been a huge player for me. Long may it continue.
"We want to give him a new contract and we're hoping to get that finalised soon."
