Celtic again push gap to five points at SPL summit

League leaders Celtic have again made the running in the Scottish Premier League with a narrow 1-0 win over St Johnstone at McDiarmid Park last night.

The Hoops were again under pressure to deliver a winning performance with title rival Rangers breathing down their neck and for the second match in a row, toiled hard for one single goal against lowly opponents.

Beram Kayal's scored the only goal of the match in added time of the first half when skipper Scott Brown flicked it into the path of the Israeli midfielder and he did the rest, beating the Saints defence to slot past Graeme Smith with the outside of his foot.

The victory backed up Saturday's defeat of the same scoreline of St Mirren and allowed Neil Lennon and his men to again push the gap out to five points with second-placed 'Gers due to take on Aberdeen at Pittodrie Stadium tonight.
