Celtic ace Griffiths: Rangers not quite up to Scottish Premiership level

Celtic striker Leigh Griffiths believes that Old Firm rivals Rangers are not up to the standard of the Scottish Premiership.

Rangers' hopes of returning to the top flight of Scottish football were dashed after the 6-1 humiliation at the hands of Motherwell in the promotion play-offs, denying them the chance to revisit their Old Firm derbies with the Hoops.

"It is disappointing," he said.

"As a Celtic player and a fan, you want Old Firm games but over the two legs Motherwell showed why they're still in the Premiership and Rangers aren't.

"You have to earn the right to be in the top league and obviously they haven't don't that over the course of the season and then they were beaten in the final.

"Everybody's looking at Rangers and their failure to get to the top league. But everybody is looking past how well Motherwell actually played."
