‘Celtic a bigger club than Tottenham’ - Dembele

Moussa Dembele has explained his reasons for choosing Celtic over Tottenham.

The French striker joined the Scottish giants from Fulham on a four-year deal on Tuesday despite interest from the likes of PSG and Spurs.

Regarding his decision to move to Glasgow, the 19-year-old insisted that getting the opportunity to play at a club of such prestige.

"Celtic is a bigger club in Europe than Tottenham, and I will get my chance to play," he said at his unveiling to the press on Wednesday.

"I know I could earn more elsewhere, but I would haven't the opportunity to play and a club like Celtic does not come along often in your life, so when that chance came, I said 'yes'.

"I chase trophies. I'm 100 per cent focused on Celtic."

The former PSG youngster also suggested that he will benefit greatly from playing under Bhoys boss Brendan Rodgers who has help developed some talented youngsters in the past.

Dembele added: "I chose Glasgow because it is a city of football. As a young guy I want competition and it's good for me to come to an environment where I'll improve.

"The fans, the stadium, the club, Brendan Rodgers – put them together and I will become a better player here in Glasgow than other cities.

"Brendan did really well with players like Raheem Sterling and Daniel Sturridge and hopefully we can work together so that he can do the same with me."
