Celta Vigo coach Rafa Benitez has likened Iago Aspas to his former Liverpool striker Robbie Fowler.

Benitez was speaking before their clash with Alaves.

He said, “I have read something about that mythical match against Alavés, those types of memories are good for us so that they see that history is there, so that they are proud of that part of history.

"From that match I take hold of the atmosphere, the intensity since Iago scored two goals, which is what I like the most. I knew Aspas, but you see him training and scoring some great goals that catch your attention.

"I want to compare him to Robbie Fowler, who was a phenomenon in the area, and Aspas can do those things too. We have to be aware of Iago's characteristics, his age and we have to get the most out of him.

"He has to give us quality, and he is giving it to us, and as long as Larsen and Douvikas continue scoring goals, he can continue providing assists. But I want to see Aspas score goals because I know he would be much happier."
