Petr Cech was thrilled after the Czech Republic team managed to get onto the winners list at Euro2012.
The Chelsea goalkeeper and his Czech teammates overcame their opening match 4-1 loss to Russia to beat Greece 2-1 last night and despite a very strong start and a slow beginning, Cech was pleased for his country.
"We had been under pressure and needed to win. In the end we have the three points on board and that's excellent. We have made the first step and now there are 90 minutes against Poland.""If you don't do well, it is unpleasant. But the following day after the Russia defeat, each of us knew it was behind us. We had two matches to turn things around," he told idnes.cz.
Group A is evenly poised going into Saturday night's final matches with all four teams capable of finishing in the top two positions as the Czechs get set to meet co-hosts Poland whilst group leaders Russia take on bottom-of-the-table Greece.
