Cavasin will not consider resigning from freefalling Sampdoria

Alberto Cavasin will not consider resigning from Sampdoria as they face relegation.

The Blucerchiati fell 2-1 at home to Lecce, dropping down to joint fourth-from-bottom with Parma, and have amassed a grand total of two points in their last eight games.

"I am not thinking about offering my resignation. I am not the one who decides these things," said Cavasin who replaced Mimmo Di Carlo with very little success on March 7.

"Others have to evaluate the situation. Besides, I think that I have fixed quite a few problems in this squad, from the fitness levels to the issues that were within the side.

"Don't forget I arrived precisely because this team had problems. I think Samp played well and deserved to win, as Lecce's goalkeeper was Man of the Match.

"Results count, especially at this moment. The crowd were cheering us on and we need them right now. This squad has the quality to stay in Serie A."
