Cavani demanded immediate Man Utd exit after Ronaldo jersey decision

Manchester United striker Edinson Cavani was left fuming when his no.7 shirt was handed to Cristiano Ronaldo last summer.

The Uruguayan did not make a public fuss about having to give up his shirt for the returning Portuguese star.

However, ESPN claims that Cavani was so upset at the decision that he requested a transfer ahead of last season.

The 35-year-old had only decided to remain at United for a second season after much convincing by manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

The report claims that any goodwill between United and Cavani evaporated after that decision to give the no.7 back to Ronaldo.

Cavani had a poor season, managing only two goals and barely featuring due to various injury problems.
