Catania striker Maxi Lopez says he's ready to join AC Milan.

The former Barcelona centre-forward is expected to join Milan next month and shed tears after victory over Palermo.

"I was emotional because this was a very important day. It is also my son's birthday," explained the Argentine.

"It was a tough week and I want to thank my teammates and the whole staff, especially the medics for getting me ready. This goal was also important for the fans, as they really care about the derby.

"Will I join Milan? I feel mature right now, so if an offer arrives, then the club will deal with it. We'll see what happens in January. I am ready."
