Catania sign Morimoto outright from Novara

Catania striker Takayuki Morimoto is again fully owned by the Sicilians.

Morimoto spent last season at Novara, netting four times during a campaign that was interrupted by a recurrence of a serious knee injury.

"We have always believed in Morimoto," President Antonino Pulvirenti told a Press conference today.

New sporting director Sergio Gasparin then spoke of other deals in development.

"We think the co-ownerships with [Davide] Lanzafame and [Mirko] Antenucci will go to the envelopes, provided that an agreement in the next few hours is not reached and as you know, some situations are often unlocked at the last minute.

"[On the contract renewal for] Pablo Barrientos? We are in a delicate position, we are working on it."
