Catania sports chief Pietro Lo Monaco has admitted interest from Real Madrid for defender Juan Vargas.
Lo Monaco said: "Vargas is a player destined for a great club.
"Vargas followed by Real Madrid? Not now, but in January the player was under attack from different clubs, but we kindly declined any kind of discussion."
