Catania sports chief Pietro Lo Monaco has defended their decision to dismiss Silvio Baldini this week.

Lo Monaco said: "We were forced to make this decision because of the tension that we could not resist. He had done some very good things this season, but in recent times something was broke.

"Walter Zenga has the right enthusiasm to lift the team."
