Real Madrid captain Iker Casillas says it will take time for everything to click under coach Jose Mourinho.
While results have been going their way, Madrid's performances have not been so well received by their supporters who expect more from the star-studded squad.
"We are a young team and must therefore take it step by step," the Madrid shot-stopper is quoted as saying by the club's official website. "We currently sit atop the table, the team is putting up good numbers and we are able to put forth our best football.
"I didn't see the Barcelona match. I was only able to see Athletic Bilbao play, but Barca will always be up there. We have just gotten started and there is a long road ahead.
"Real Madrid have a lot of games to play in the Champions League, La Liga and the King's Cup, but we are used to playing many matches."
